Boise State travels to the midwest to take on Drake in the final edition of the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge.
This will be the third time these teams meet, with both of the previous matchups coming in the MWC/MVC Challenge. Boise State maintains a 4-1 record in the Challenge and with a win Tuesday would bounce back to .500 on the season.
Drake is off to a 3-1 start after its previous head coach, Niko Medved, opted to venture west and took over at Colorado State. First-year head coach Darian DeVries has led this year’s Bulldog squad to wins over D-II Buena Vista, Texas State, and UMKC.
Meanwhile, Boise State is off to its worst five-game start since 2007. Leon Rice’s team suffered a shocking home loss to Idaho State in the season opener and was also defeated by Creighton and Illinois State in the Cayman Islands. In addition to Tuesday’s matchup, Boise State still plays Grand Canyon, Oregon twice, and undefeated Loyola Marymount before non-conference play is finished. The Broncos can get things turned around with a solid performance against Drake.
