The matchup some G5 fans have clamored for.
Boise State and UCF have agreed to a home-and-home football game in 2021 and 2023 with the first game being played in Orlando, Florida, and the return game at Boise State.
This matchup will pit two of the most well-known Group of Five teams in the nation on the field.

The Knights have shot up in fame after its 2017 season which saw them go undefeated en route to winning the Peach Bowl over Auburn and finishing sixth in the final AP poll. That same year UCF went very bold and self-proclaimed itself the national champions of college football as they were the only undefeated team that year something that a large portion of college football does not agree with.
Naturally, that self-appointed title stirred some feathers across the country, and specifically Boise State fans which have had multiple seasons very similar to that ‘17 UCF team.
The Knight’s followed up in 2018 by taking on LSU in the Fiesta Bowl, but that game saw the Tigers top UCF.
Now, two of the most well-known Group of Five schools will square off in what, hopefully, should be a game against a pair of top 25 teams when they meet.
We have no clue who the players will be and even if Bryan Harsin and Josh Heupel will be roaming the sidelines coaching these teams, but the fans will be the same and with the passion of each side this should make for an exciting pair of games.
This game has been in the works for awhile and was on the radar of our Boise State writer Raj Prabhala during the summer who said to keep an eye out on this potential matchup.
Everyone should fully expect a lot of smack talking between the two fanbases leading up to this game and for everyone’s sake let’s hope both Boise State and UCF keep playing at a high-level of football so that this upcoming series will live up to the hype.
