An under-the-radar matchup.
The Mountain West will head back to Texas once again for bowl season, as the Boise State Broncos will face off with Conference USA’s North Texas Mean Green on Saturday, December 17 in the Frisco Bowl. The matchup was first reported by Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.
Though the bowl was canceled by COVID-19 concerns in 2020, Boise State’s appearance after a 9-4 regular season and a berth in the conference championship game will mark the fourth straight appearance by a Mountain West team in this game. North Texas, meanwhile, rallied from a 2-3 start to their campaign to go 6-2 in CUSA and 7-6 overall, though they fell just short in that conference’s title game against UTSA in a 48-27 loss on Friday.
The Frisco Bowl will be broadcast on ESPN, kicking off at 7:15 PM Mountain/6:15 PM Pacific.
