Can the senior QB deliver a season to remember?
Watchlist season concludes this morning with the release of the Walter Camp Player of the Year watchlist. Given annually to the nation’s most versatile player, Boise State quarterback Brett Rypien is the lone player from the Mountain West on this year’s preseason list.
Rypien, who has also been named to the Davey O’Brien and Maxwell watchlists in the last two weeks, completed 62.6% of his passes in 2017 for 2,877 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was at his best in conference play, racking up 14 scores against just one interception while leading the Broncos to another Mountain West championship.
Rypien played his way onto the Walter Camp watchlist last summer, too, though last year’s winner was former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield.
