The Broncos handle their business in the first game of their road trip.

After a slow start, the Boise State Broncos went on a tear in Fort Collins. With nobody playing more than 30 minutes, the Broncos won comfortably 87-54. Boise State was also able to beat Colorado State at their own game, as the Broncos out-rebounded the Rams by 20, 51-31.

Conference player of the year contender Chandler Hutchinson led the way for the Broncos as he finished with 27 points. Hutchinson averaged almost a point a minute as he saw 28 minutes of game time. Hutchinson was joined in double figures by Justinian Jessup, 16, and Zach Haney, 13. The Broncos just outworked the Rams. They had 34 points in the paint, 25 points off turnovers, and 25 second chance points

Colorado State was led by Deion James who had 12 points. J.D. Paige in his return from a broken hand, also had 12 points. The Rams seemed lost. They were going back to their chuck it up style of play. The Rams didn’t seem to have an offense tonight. The Rams had a mental off night. Nico Carvacho, who is coming into his own this season, had one field goal attempt. That can’t happen. He needs to have more touches down low.

Boise State maintained their hold on second place in the Mountain West. The Broncos now get a couple days off before they head to San Diego to take on the Aztecs on Tuesday. Colorado State needs to get their head back in the game as they head to Reno to take on the Wolf Pack on Sunday.
