She is also passionate about several topics that connect her business knowledge with broader social concerns. “I’m especially passionate about leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and cultural competence,” Ali says. “I love sharing how innovation can be used not just for growth but for social impact and how creativity and purpose can work together to expand language access and empower communities.”

Ali’s experience as a refugee and, later on, as a business leader, educates her on what language services can achieve. She considers her work as a bigger contribution to making communities more accommodating, whereby all individuals are able to access the services and opportunities they desire, irrespective of their language.
The principles under which Ali works, strength, inclusion, empowerment and innovation, mirror not only her personal experience, but also her career objectives. The strength of overcoming displacement, resettlement and business establishment gives resilience. Inclusion motivates her to make sure language is never used as an obstacle to healthcare, education, legal services, or civic participation.
“Resilience, inclusion, empowerment, and innovation are at the heart of everything I do,” Ali says. “I believe language is much more than words; it’s a bridge to understanding and belonging.”
Such a perspective on language as a bridge and not only a tool is what sets Ali apart. In her opinion, language services do not merely consist of making transactions or passing information; they also involve empowering individuals to engage fully with society, to represent themselves and their families, to have access to opportunities and to give back to their communities.

As Global Language Connections continues to grow and Ali continues her community leadership, her message remains consistent. Success, in her view, is not measured solely by business metrics but by the impact on communities and individuals.
“I hope people see that resilience and purpose can turn adversity into impact,” Ali says. “My journey from refugee to CEO is proof that innovation can serve humanity when guided by compassion. I want others to understand that success isn’t only about profit, it’s about creating meaningful access, empowering others, and leaving a positive mark on the community.”
