2021 Mountain West Football Top 50 Players: #43, Utah State LB AJ Vongphachanh

The Utah State Aggies might not have gotten it done in the win column last fall, but a few young stars looked like they could form a solid foundation in the new Blake Anderson era, including the next player on our annual countdown of Mountain West football’s best.
AJ Vongphachanh spent his sophomore season following in the footsteps of Aggie tackling machines past, leading Utah State with 50 total tackles and finishing seventh among Mountain West defenders with 8.3 tackles per game. Vongphachanh proved he could create a bit of havoc, too, with 3.5 tackles for loss and three sacks, the latter of which tied with Nick Heninger to lead the team.
Utah State has done quite a bit to overhaul its personnel this off-season, but they’ll be counting upon players like Vongphachanh to continue developing as they look to rebound and compete in the Mountain division once again.
