The final football game of the year is the Super Bowl and while it is not college or Mountain West football, everyone watches, yes, everyone.
If your favorite NFL team is out of it or you don’t really have an NFL team to root for we are here to help you to pick either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Kansas City Chiefs based upon what Mountain West players are on each roster.
Overall, there are just four players on a Super Bowl roster with Hawaii’s Marcus Kemp and Utah State’s Darwin Thompson on the Chiefs and for Tampa Bay, it is linebacker Shaquil Barrett from Colorado State and Boise State offensive lineman John Molchon who is on the practice squad.
So, if you are a Mountain West fan of those schools there is some rooting interest in this game.
Before we get to the players, the Chiefs are a small favorite at 3.5 points despite Tampa Bay being the first team ever to play in their home stadium for a Super Bowl. Many of the bettors who are looking for Super Bowl betting on the web right now aren’t sure what is the right choice to make here, so let’s go over the basic facts about the match and the strongest players of each team.

The top player in this bunch is Barrett is a key player on this Tampa Bay defense and he feels if this unit can get to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes then the game will be in their hands.

We can control the game. If we affect the quarterback it can be all on us. He was determined to get it by any means, like don’t let failure be an option, and that’s what I’m on right now. For the year, Barrett has eight sacks, 14 TFL’s and eight quarterback hits.
The others have played in minor roles such as former Aggie back Thompson, in last year’s Super Bowl he has one carry for zero yards. This season he has 97 rushing yards and seven catches for 65 yards.
Hawaii’s Kemp has had an interesting NFL career by first being signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chiefs in 2017 and was promoted and assigned to the practice squad a few times. He suffered an MCL and ACL tear during the Chiefs Super Bowl run in 2019. Then in 2020, he was waived by the Chiefs and picked up by the Dolphins for a few weeks but then made it back to Kansas City’s active roster for the AFC championship game.
Kemp has had quite the pro career.
