Boise State gets one non-conference game

There will be three total Mountain West non-conference games with Air Force taking on Army and Navy, but the latest is looking to be a really good game between Boise State and BYU.

The Cougars and Broncos were originally scheduled to be played on Nov. 7 before COVID-19 threw a wrench into things, but now that game is back on since Army vs. Air Force is taking place that same weekend.

Boise State will be hosting BYU which is currently ranked 22nd in both the AP and Coaches Poll. This is a game that will definitely boost the Broncos’ chances of making a New Year’s Six game by playing an opponent that very likely will be ranked and maybe even a top-20 team when they play.

“The annual game between BYU and Boise State has become a much-anticipated regional rivalry between two universities with great football traditions,” said BYU Director of Athletics Tom Holmoe. “We are pleased the Mountain West Conference determined to play football in 2020 and worked with Boise State to allow this previously scheduled non-conference game to be played.”

There is no television or kick time as of yet for this game. With it being at Boise State, it will most likely be on FS1 or FOX.

With Boise State playing seven conference games they will end up missing New Mexico from within the Mountain Divison. It originally thought that it would be Air Force since the Falcons play Army on Nov. 7.
