The All-Star circuit is upon us and the next one is the Shrine Game which began practices this week and will conclude with the game on Saturday Jan. 20 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
There are four Mountain West players at this game, and the official measurements were announced as well during the cattle call segment.
- Nick Stevens, QB, Colorado State, 6-2, 293 pounds
- Jake Bennett, C, Colorado State, 6-2.5, 295 pounds
- Devonte Boyd, WR, UNLV, 6-1, 178 pounds
- David Wells, TE, San Diego State, 6-5 3/8, 252 pounds
- Dejon Allen, G, Hawaii, 6-2, 293 pounds

A left tackle for some of his four years starting for Hawaii, Allen figures to kick back inside in the NFL. He brings strong hands and an innate ability to stay engaged with his blocks thanks to smart footwork. His size (listed at 290 pounds) and flexibility are questions he can help answer this week.

I was impressed with Hawaii’s Dejon Allen, who is primarily playing guard. He has a very good sense of how to counter what the defender is trying to attack him with, and his powerful punch can jolt up unsuspecting tackles. He was the top interior blocker in Tuesday’s session.
UNLV’s Boyd met with the L.A. Rams and L.A. Chargers on Monday. On Tuesday he met with the New York Jets.
