ODDSSan Diego State -2.5

The stakes are high.

Win number seven will almost certainly place Rocky Long’s Aztecs into the Top 25.  If seven straight wins including a win over ASU and Boise State won’t do it: then somebody will have to bring it to the attention of Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson.

The Aztecs have found entering the AP Top 25 about as difficult as passing a German drunk driving test.  West Coast bias anyone?

Jay Norvell’s Wolfpack could use a big victory to remain relevant during a middling football season.  In addition to maintaining a winning record, the Pack could consider the win an upset- and possibly even a signature victory.

Aztecs quarterback Ryan Agnew will start his sixth game in place of Aztecs quarterback Christian Chapman who is almost healed from a slight MCL tear.  Star running back Juwan Washington remains sidelined with a broken collarbone.  Several running backs will alternate in his place.  Despite the chaos, the Aztecs just keep winning.

Wolfpack quarterback Ty Gangi has been a cool and steady force for the Wolfpack.  He is helping the Wolfpack get their first bowl berth since ’15.  He has to be careful not to throw picks, and instead to hit wide receiver targets Kaleb Fossum and McLane Mannix.  He must also convert with the help of running back Toa Taua in the face of Aztecs defense.

Game prediction; Aztecs 21 – Wolfpack 17.[lawrence-auto-related count=3 category=1360]
