Long break to bounce back from loss
Boise State returns to action on Saturday night following an eight-day layoff between games.
In the last game, Boise State came up on the wrong side of a lopsided loss to San Diego State on Friday, Feb. 3. The Aztecs used its home-field advantage in a 72-52 rout of the Broncos. The Broncos fell behind early in the game and could not make up the ground.
One leading factor in the loss was the absence of guard Marcus Shaver Jr. Boise State will hope to have Shaver return in the next few games.
Saturday’s game against Wyoming would be a favorable time for Shaver to return to the starting lineup. Shaver is third on the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game.
Boise State’s next opponent, Wyoming, is struggling this season with a 7-16 record. Wyoming suffered a 10-point loss to UNLV on Wednesday. This game will be important for Boise State to recover and keep its tournament hopes alive.
