Some epic clashes.

12. November 19, 2022 — Utah State 35, San Jose State 31

An underrated banger which definitely flew under the radar. Both offenses had their way in this one as San Jose State quarterback Chevan Cordeiro threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns, while the Aggies overcame three turnovers to post 430 yards of total offense, led by running back Calvin Tyler Jr. and his 125 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

11. December 17, 2022 — Boise State 35, North Texas 32

After coming up just short in their quest for another conference championship, the Broncos got everything they could handle from Conference USA’s Mean Green in the 2022 Frisco Bowl. UNT had leads of 3-0, 10-3, 17-14, and 24-21 at different junctures of the game, but the Boise State defense came up aces one last time by forcing two Austin Aune interceptions and the offense leaned on its star freshmen, Ashton Jeanty and Taylen Green, for a combined 294 rushing yards to go along with Green’s 137 passing yards.

10. November 12, 2022 — Wyoming 14, Colorado State 13

The Border War rarely lets Mountain West fans down and 2022’s iteration was no exception. Despite an electric performance by Rams wide receiver Tory Horton, who opened the scoring with a 72-yard punt return touchdown and caught eight passes for 168 yards, his fourth quarter muffed punt ended up being a backbreaker. Wyoming would turn that short field into a 32-yard touchdown strike from Jayden Clemons to Alex Brown, then Rams kicker Michael Boyle missed a 40-yard field goal which would’ve given them the lead with under five minutes to go.

9. September 16, 2022 — Wyoming 17, Air Force 14

This game ended up being the biggest shocker in the early part of conference play. Air Force came in having scored over 40 points against both Northern Iowa and Colorado, but managed only 4.28 yards per carry as the Cowboys defense stymied the dangerous Falcons ground game with five tackles for loss. Brad Roberts had his worst game of the year, with 54 yards on 16 carries, and got outperformed by Wyoming’s Titus Swen and his 102 rushing yards, which included the game-winning touchdown with six minutes to go.
