Nevada @ IOWA (-23 O/U 39)
If you’ve watched Iowa play what seems to be the sport of football that past two weeks, you see this line and hammer it. Iowa being a 23-point favorite (it opened with Iowa being a 20.5-point favorite) is insane considering they’re averaging 7, yes 7, points per game and they’ve only scored one touchdown. Nevada has problems but not enough of them to think they can’t score or keep the Hawkeyes below 23 points.
Pick: Nevada +23
UTEP @ New MEXICO (+3, O/U 38.5)
This feels like a trap bet, no matter which way you pick. New Mexico’s defense has stepped up this year and UTEP hasn’t exactly lit up the scoreboard either. Look for the Lobos offense to take a step forward against a defense giving up nearly 400 yards and 30 points of offense.
Pick: New Mexico outright (+130)

SAN DIEGO STATE @ #14 UTAH (-21.5, O/U 49.5)
This kind of spread against San Deigo State seems weird. But they haven’t exactly done anything to show they deserve respect this season. The Aztecs lost by 18 to an Arizona squad who then turned around and lost to Mississippi St by 22 points. The Utes meanwhile put up nearly 450 yards against Florida. Utah and the points look enticing this week.
Pick: Utah -21.5
Fresno State @ #7 USC (-12.5, O/U 74)
Man this over seems too high and it’s grown by four points since it opened. But both offenses are averaging over 500 yards of offense. USC is averaging 53.5 points and Fresno State is averaging 33.5 points per game. Both defenses are giving up about 360 yards per game. So something has to give here and it’s probably the defense.

Duquesne @ Hawai’i (-6.5, O/U 55)
This game screams stay away. New head coach Timmy Chang has a gigantic rebuild in front of him and it’s been a long road so far this season. Averaging 12 points per game and 324 yards of offense per game, while giving up 56 points and 534 yards on defense seems like a recipe for disaster even if Duquesne hasn’t shown anything.
