What are the oddsmakers saying about these match ups?
Late in the week we will look at odds and recent lines and make our best picks and bets. Odds courtesy of Vegas Insider and inputted at time of writing.
Week one was not kind to the Mountain West. We are 8-8 on picks for the year after going 4-7 in week one. Let’s not start a losing streak of our own and get back on track in week two.
BOISE STATE @ NEW MEXICO (+17, O/U 44)
New Mexico started hot last week. Boise State didn’t. Vegas doesn’t seem to trust last week as the line has increased for Boise from the open. Neither team deserves to be trusted on the spread at this point. This over seems very low on the other hand, so feel free to take it.
Pick: Over
Colorado @ Air Force (-17.5, O/U 49.5)
Seems everyone is on the side of Air Force, except for Bleacher Report (who is predicting a 31-10 win for Colorado). And you know what, I am as well. Colorado was gashed for 275 yards on the ground last week by TCU. Air Force runs their triple option offense and will make the Buffaloes pay on the ground again.
Pick: Air Force -17.5

UNLV @ CAL (-12.5, O/U 48.5)
Vegas Insider is currently showing 89% of the money from 57% of the bets on UNLV to cover the spread and 81% of the money from just 2% of the bets for UNLV to win outright. I don’t know if I am that confident in UNLV to do so. With UNLVs high powered offense and Cal looking decent, the over will probably be in play here.
Pick: Over
NORTHERN Colorado @ Wyoming (-23, O/U 45.5)
Lost in all of the commotion of Wyoming beating Tulsa last week, was the Golden Hurricanes torching the Cowboys secondary to the tune of 460 yards. The UNC Bears had 425 yards through the air in their loss to Houston Baptist last week. Give me a shootout with the over being hit by a good margin.
Pick: Over

Middle Tennessee @ Colorado State (-11, O/U 57)
It’s the Spider-Man pointing at each other meme game. Both Middle Tennessee and Colorado State run an air raid offense and a 4-2-5 defense. You could tell Colorado State had moments where they couldn’t capitalize against Michigan. Middle Tennessee looked lost against FBS newcomer, and FCS powerhouse, James Madison and former Rams QB Todd Centeio. Look for the Rams to come out strong and cover.
Pick: Colorado State -11
