What are the oddsmakers saying about these match ups?
Late in the week we will look at odds and recent lines and make our best picks and bets. Odds courtesy of Vegas Insider.
We got the appetizer course of college football in Week 0. Now it’s time for the main course. We went 4-1 in picks during week zero, which is a great start. Now comes the real test to see if we can continue that strong start.
Cal poly @ Fresno State (-39.5, O/U 61.5)
Fresno State may be looking ahead to Oregon State and USC, so this could be one of those games that goes against the money in Vegas. With Jeff Tedford back for his second stint with the Bulldogs, look for Fresno State to get started with a bang and rack up the points.
Pick: Over
Portland State @ San Jose State (-19.5, O/U 52)
San Jose State took a step back last season after winning the Mountain West in 2020. They brought in a few transfer pieces including former Hawai’i quarterback Chevran Cordeiro. It remains to be seen if the offense can come together enough. The Spartans should win, but it will be closer than anticipated.
Pick: Portland State +19.5

Colorado State @ #8 Michigan (-30.5, O/U 61.5)
I like the over here. The Rams are implementing a new offense, in the air raid, after a run first offense for the past two seasons. Michigan loses a good amount of talent, but brings back a good amount of talent as well. The Rams will look to get out early to get into a rhythm. CSU won’t win, but they’ll get on the scoreboard.
Pick: Over
Northern Iowa @ Air Force (-15, O/U 38)
Air Force is going to be strong this year. They get 2022 started against FCS Northern Iowa who lost two NFL draft picks on the offensive line. The triple option present trouble for everyone. The Falcons had nearly 4,300 yards rushing last year and will look to make their way back towards that early.
Pick: Air Force -15

Arizona @ San Diego state (-6.5, O/U 47)
The Aztecs open up Snapdragon Stadium on regular CBS against the Arizona Wildcats. The Wildcats are a completely different team from last season. San Diego State brings in Va Tech transfer Braxton Burmeister, however it remains to be seen if this makes a difference in the Aztecs passing game.
Pick: Under
