Bowl games for the Mountain West
Last year, the Mountain West sent a record eight teams bowling which is five more than the tie-ins within the league. The current lineup has five games for the postseason which runs through 2025-26.
These five are very familiar within the league and the champion goes to the LA Bowl which is fairly new as it replaced the Las Vegas Bowl which went away at the start of the 2021 season.

– Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl vs Pac-12
– New Mexico Bowl vs Conference USA
– Barstool Arizona Bowl vs MAC
– EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl vs Conference USA
The league can obviously go to a New Year’s Six game if the conference champion is the highest-rated among the Group of Five. This season it would be the Cotton Bowl.
The league also has a backup tie-in which is the Guaranteed Rate Bowl vs Big Ten or Big 12. This bowl is played in Phoenix and used to be known as the Cheeze-It Bowl.
There are a few other TBA bowl games that feature a Group of Five team that would be how the Mountain West could send all of its teams to the postseason. The conference has done a good job of eclipsing its tie-ins and sending more than five teams to a bowl game.

– RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl vs Group of Five
– SERVPRO First Responder Bowl vs Group of Five
– Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl vs Group of Five
The only downside with the Mountain West bowl lineup is that there is just one game against a Power 5 team in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl vs. a mid-level Pac-12 team.
