The Senior Bowl is arguably the most important postseason bowl game in terms of getting drafted for the NFL. Getting an invite to this game all but assures one will be selected in the NFL Draft.
The bowl game boasts that 30% of the players in the league participated in the Senior Bowl. There also have been 53 Pro Football Hall of Famers to play in this game. In 2019, the Senior Bowl showcased 93 total players that went on to be drafted, including 10 first-round picks and 40 in the first three rounds.
Getting this exclusive invitation goes a long way. There as NFL coaching staffs will be on hand as coaches, plus many other draft personnel on hand to watch and see how these players perform during the week.
The practices are the most important thing with the game being a reward for the players to have some fun and also put to work from what they learned during the week of practices.
Within the Mountain West, there are eight players who made the roster with three of them coming from the Nevada Wolf Pack.
- Carson Strong, QB, Nevada
- Cole Turner, TE, Nevada
- Romeo Doubs, WR, Nevada
- Khalil Shakir, WR, Boise State
- Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State
- Cameron Thomas, DL, San Diego State
- Daniel Bellinger, TE, San Diego State
- Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming
This is an amazing opportunity for these players to line up with the best in the country and get NFL coaching. There are literally millions of dollars at stake in this week as a good week can shoot someone up the draft board with buzz, and the opposite could happen if one performs poorly.
The Senior Bowl takes place in Mobile, Alabama, and the game itself is on Feb. t
