As we inch closer to Bowl week, things couldn’t be much more exciting for college football fans across the country. For starters, Army will be playing Navy today, to determine just how many Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy victories behind Air Force they remain. In case your wondering, Air Force sits at 20, Navy next with 16, while Army can jump to ten, should they defeat Navy.

As if “America’s Game”, Bowl Season and the selection of a Heisman winner aren’t enthralling enough, we just got word that a release date has been announced for EA Sports NCAA Football Game! If you weren’t already aware, the cult classic game series was sunset after the 2014 edition, due to Name Image and Likeness concerns. If you want a really interesting dive into what happened, take a listen to the Religion of Sports Podcast done by Ben Baskins earlier this year. Check Out the Lost in Sports ‘NCAA Video Game’ Podcast Here!

The announcement of the NCAA series return generated excitement from fans and gamers alike, across the country. However, when the announcement came out earlier this year, there was no date given, just a confirmation of a future return of the series. Well we now have a pretty good idea of when to expect the game to be released, and it’s looking like the traditional timing which has historically been in July. Specifically, July of 2023.

While no specifics have been issued directly from EA Sports, an unconfirmed copy of Licensing Proposals to FBS Schools has been circulating. Some of the details outlined in the proposal beyond NIL, yield an agreement spanning four years.

One thing that can be confirmed, EA’s acknowledgement of the series return is a welcome and eagerly anticipated delivery. If like many, the prospect of waiting until 2023 seems daunting, I encourage you to look into the College Football Revamped rendition of the NCAA Football 14 game HERE. It is a completely modified and updated way to play the game with current rosters, jerseys and even stadiums, but on the legacy gaming platforms.
