First reported by Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, the Cowboys will make their first appearance in the Potato Bowl since 2017 after compiling a 6-6 record in the regular season, including a 2-6 record in Mountain West play.
Kent State, meanwhile, will make its first appearance in this game after wrapping up a 7-6 campaign. They won the MAC East division with a 6-2 record in conference action, but lost to Northern Illinois in the conference championship on Saturday. However, the Golden Flashes, under head coach Sean Lewis, boast one of the nation’s most explosive offenses thanks to playmakers like quarterback Dustin Crum and wide receiver Dante Cephas, making for an interesting contrast of styles.
The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is set to take place on Tuesday, December 21, and will be broadcast on ESPN, kicking off at 1:30 PM Mountain/12:30 PM Pacific.
