Utah State Football: Aggies To Face Oregon State In Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl
The Mountain West champions will square off with the Oregon State Beavers in the inaugural Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl.
Los Angeles will be Aggie blue for a change.
After claiming the football program’s first outright conference championship since 2012, the Utah State Aggies will make one last trip to southern California to close out their season.

The Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl, to be held in Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium, will host the Aggies and the Pac-12’s Oregon State on Saturday, December 18. That postseason reward, first broken by Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, happens to take Utah State just 12 miles up the road from Dignity Health Sports Park, where they defeated the San Diego State Aztecs in the Mountain West title game by a 46-13 margin last Saturday afternoon.
Oregon State has wrapped up its first winning record since 2013, going 7-5 with a 5-4 record in the Pac-12, a five-win improvement from the abbreviated 2020 season. One of those wins was a blowout at home against Hawaii back in September, the program’s first against a Mountain West program after four straight losses dating back to 2016.
Interestingly, it also represents a matchup between two teams for which Gary Andersen was previously the head coach. Andersen, of course, had two different stints at the helm in Logan from 2009-12 and 2019-20, and he led the Beavers from 2015 until resigning in the middle of 2017.
The LA Bowl will mark the first matchup between the Aggies and the Beavers since 1998. It will be broadcast on ABC, kicking off at 5:30 PM Mountain/4:30 PM Pacific.
