Fresno State Improves To 6-1 With Win Over San Diego
Bulldogs are cruising.
The Fresno State Bulldogs were coming off their first loss of the season to Cal Berkeley and were looking to bounce back to In-state folk San Diego. Fresno State did come out with their 6th victory of the season as they defeated the San Diego Toreros, 63-43.
The Bulldogs got off to a solid start as they led 13-7 with under 14 minutes to go in the first half. The Dogs never looked back after taking the lead and went into the half up 33-20. The Toreros came out on a quick 5-0 run. Fresno State would answer back with a 10-2 run off their own that was capped off with a thunderous putback by the Sophomore C, Braxton Meah. The Bulldogs would eventually go onto win.

Keys To The Victory:
The Bulldogs bench gave a big boost last night with 18 bench points. Seven of the 18 bench points came from Junior Forward, Deon Stroud who had a season high four rebounds and two steals. Orlando Robinson continues to dominate as he finished with a game-high 15 points, five rebounds, and three blocks. The Dogs also had 14 points off turnovers to San Diego six points off turnovers. Another bright spot for the Bulldogs was shooting nearly 90% from the free throw line 17-19.
Next up for the Bulldogs they will have CSU Northridge (3-3 0-0). Fresno State did not get to play CSUN last year due to Covid-19. The Matadors will be riding into the Save Mart Center with a three game win streak. Fresno State will look to go 7-1 which would be the best start for the Dogs under coach Hutson.
