In week eight of the college football season, the Mountain West teams continued to surprise. Colorado State became a laughing stock, Wyoming’s offense disappeared again, San Diego State continued to show they’re the favorites, and Fresno State showed they shouldn’t be counted out.
Last week we went 4-2 and we are 27-25 overall for the season. We got above .500 last week, lets see if we can continue the momentum
UNLV @ Nevada (-20.5, O/U 58)
The over has dropped 4.5 points since the open on this game. The over barely hit during Nevada’s last game against Fresno State, but UNLV has a much worse defense. UNLV’s offense struggled to begin the year, but has gained momentum since. Expect a shootout for the Fremont Cannon.
Pick: Over

Hawai’i @ Utah State (-5.5, O/U 65)
Another game where the spread has dropped. This one surprised me a little. Both offense have shown the ability to be explosive and both defenses have shown they can’t stop anybody. That is a perfect mix for a shootout. The over should cover in this game safely.
Pick: Over
Wyoming @ San Jose State (-3, O/U 41)
The spread on this game has shifted four points in the Spartans favor. Wyoming hasn’t scored a touchdown in 10 quarters of football. The Cowboys’ offense are hoping a change at quarterback changes their fortunes. Until the Cowboys show me something, I think it’s a safe bet to pick against them.
Pick: San Jose State -3
Boise State @ Colorado State (+2.5, O/U 51.5)
Am I crazy? Most likely. But I think this is the year CSU breaks the streak. The Rams have never beaten the Broncos in 10 tries. The only Mountain West team to have not beaten Boise State since they joined the conference. The Rams top 10 defense against a struggling Boise State offense seems like a perfect chance to change some fortunes.
Pick: Colorado State +2.5

Fresno State @ #21 San Diego sTate (-1, O/U 44.5)
This game is going to determine who represents the West division in the Mountain West championship. San Diego State brings a top five defense in terms of yards allowed into this game. Fresno State sits just outside a top 10 offense in terms of yards allowed. This game is going to come down to who breaks first. I think the Bulldogs have been challenged enough to pull out the win here.
Pick: Fresno State +1
