What are the oddsmakers saying about these match ups?
Late in the week we will look at odds and recent lines and make our best picks and bets. Odds courtesy of Vegas Insider.
In week six of the college football season, the Mountain West kept rolling. Boise State beat BYU on national television, Colorado State beat the defending MW champs convincingly, and Nevada absolutely waxed New Mexico State.
Last week we went 2-3 and we are 20-21 overall for the season. Continuing to falter with our picks, let’s hope we can get back on track.
#24 San Diego State @ San Jose State (-9.5, O/U 41)
San Diego State is the odds on favorite to win the West division this year. They should walk away with this victory, but I don’t trust the Aztecs to cover 9.5 points. I’m more confident in the over here. Since 2012, when the schools started playing every year, they have only failed to reach 41 points twice in that time.
Pick: Over
Fresno State @ wyoming (+3.5, O/U 53.5)
Wyoming got their first real test against Air Force last week. This week they get another in the Bulldogs of Fresno State. Fresno State is going to test the Cowboys secondary and see if they can keep up. Fresno State is looking to rebuild momentum after losing to Hawaii and I think they get back on track here.
Pick: Fresno State -3.5
It's all about family for @FresnoStateFB @jcropper_5. I appreciate him sitting down and opening up about playing with a greater purpose. Click on the link to watch the full aired interview.https://t.co/R3aR6at1cu via @abc30 pic.twitter.com/d0XOif1BzW

Colorado State @ New Mexico (+10.5, O/U 45)
There’s a chance New Mexico could be without starting QB Terry Wilson as he is listed as a game time decision. Word seems to be leaning towards Wilson being out. Even if Wilson is able to play, Colorado State’s defense is starting to round into form as they have held each team under 300 yards in their past three games.
Pick: Colorado State -10.5
Utah State @ UNLV (+7, O/U 62.5)
Utah State generates a lot of yards on offense, but they also give up a lot yards on defense. UNLV has shown flashes at times on offense and this could be another chance for them to do so. I’ve had bad luck with UNLV lines so the over seems to be the safe play for me here.
Pick: Over

Air Force @ Boise State (-3.5, O/U 51)
Boise State’s rushing defense has improved the last two weeks. But they are playing Air Force this week and have struggled against the Falcons at times. I think the Broncos take a step back here and Air Force runs all over the Broncos. They won’t run away with it, but the Falcons could send Boise back under .500.
Pick: Air Force +3.5
Hawai’i @ Nevada (-14.5, O/U 61)
Wow, he’s picking the over here. You’re damn right I am. Nevada’s air raid offense combined with Hawaii’s ability to generate their own offense out of nowhere leads to a lot of points. Nevada has only been held in check twice this year and I don’t think Hawai’i is capable of doing so.
Pick: Over
