2021 Mountain West Football Top 50 Players: #32, Air Force LB Demonte Meeks
The Falcons linebacker opted out of 2020, but he’s more than talented enough to crack our countdown of the Mountain West’s best.
Back with a vengeance.
The Air Force Falcons have a number of major contributors returning to the field this fall after electing to take a turnback from the Academy in 2020 and, much like defensive teammate Jordan Jackson, the next player on our countdown of the Mountain West’s top football players is simply too good to overlook despite the layoff.
Demonte Meeks, if you’ll recall, created quite a bit of havoc in the Falcons’ top-25 campaign two years ago, earning a spot on the all-conference second team defense after leading the team with 98 tackles and nine tackles for loss while also pitching in with four sacks. That goes a long way toward explaining why he was both a preseason all-conference pick by the media last summer and is now the top-ranked Air Force player on our list this year.
With a clean bill of health and a full fall camp to work with, Meeks should be more than able to jump right back into the business of making quarterbacks’ and running backs’ lives much, much harder.
.@Chill_Monte is all business.
A LOT of reason to be excited with him returning to the field in 2021 💪 pic.twitter.com/y48o0ZsBjW
