2021 Mountain West Football Top 50 Players: #31, Utah State WR/KR Savon Scarver
The Aggies’ return specialist is back again on our annual countdown of Mountain West football’s best performers.
A game-changer unlike anyone else in the conference.
The Mountain West has had a number of supremely talented return specialists over the years, but few are consistent and explosive enough year in and year out to make our annual countdown of the conference’s top players. Utah State’s Savon Scarver is an exception that breaks the mold.
2021 marks the third year in a row that Scarver has made the cut, though it was hard not to imagine him doing so after making the most of his limited opportunities last fall. He returned just ten kicks but averaged 31.4 yards per return, one of only seven FBS players to do so with at least ten attempts, and scored a touchdown for the fourth straight year.
There are good reasons, then, why other head coaches pay Scarver the respect they do. With a new era underway in Logan, he could jumpstart things in a big way simply by doing what he does best.
Why @SavonScarver just might be the most feared player in the @MountainWest 👂🏽🗣️👇🏽
