2021 Mountain West Football Top 50 Players: #42, Fresno State WR Jalen Cropper
The Bulldogs wide receiver broke out as a big-play threat and lands in our countdown of Mountain West football’s top athletes in 2021.
A touchdown waiting to happen.
It doesn’t seem likely that anyone will top Davante Adams in the annals of Fresno State’s all-time great wide receivers, but few prospects have generated the kind of excitement from the Red Wave that the next entry on our countdown of the Mountain West’s best football players has over the last couple years and, more importantly, followed through on the hype.
Jalen Cropper was able to get his feet wet with five starts in ten games two years ago, though he took the opportunity to start five of the Bulldogs’ six games last fall and, after a slow start, literally ran with it. Cropper finished 2020 with a trio of 100-yard performances, including a ten-catch, 202-yard performance against Utah State, and ended the season with 37 catches for 520 yards and five touchdowns, all of which were team highs.
Fresno State now looks loaded on offense as they take aim at reclaiming the Mountain West crown, but Cropper seems like a good bet to continue leading the way through the air.
