San Jose State Football: Cade Hall is MWwire’s 2021 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year
The Spartans defensive end won a very competitive vote to be named Mountain West football’s preseason defensive player of the year.
Is a dominant repeat on the horizon?
Mountain West Wire’s 2021 preseason honors:
All-Conference Teams | Offensive Player of the Year | Defensive Player of the Year | Special Teams Player of the Year | Freshmen of the Year | Newcomer of the Year | Coach of the Year | Coordinator of the Year
The vote among our staff for Mountain West football’s preseason defensive player of the year was a close one, though San Jose State defensive end Cade Hall emerged as our choice.
And why not? The reigning defensive player of the year broke out in 2020 to become the conference’s most dominant pass rusher, collecting ten sacks and 12 tackles for loss to spearhead the Spartans’ run to the top of the Mountain West.
While he’ll have plenty of help in San Jose State’s title defense this fall, don’t bet against Hall once again performing a cut above other defenders in the conference.
