Wolf Pack looking sharp

Uniforms are always a hot topic when it comes to college sports. Alternate and one-off unis are great and usually, the fans love them. The Nevada Wolf Pack broke out a new uniform for its spring game and another uniform and helmet that is a one off.

The primary helmet is the silver one below and it keeps the underrated cursive script that also is a classic look. Instead of the traditional dark blue helmet, they are going with this silver — or gray — look for the 2021 season.

One interesting tidbit about those silver helmets is that it has silver flakes, similar to Notre Dame’s gold flake helmets. Head coach Jay Norvell brought up the silver flakes when talking to his team prior to the spring game.

“You guys may know that Notre Dame has a gold helmet,” Norvell said via Nevada Sports Net. “It’s a special gold. It’s a metallic flake gold. It’s the only helmet like that in college football. Nobody else wears it. Nobody else has worn this color helmet, and we patented this silver. Nobody in college football is going to wear this helmet but Nevada.

“We are building a team with unique qualities. You guys are unique. This helmet is unique. Nobody else will wear this helmet but us, but the Wolf Pack. Carry yourselves that way.”

Nevada is looking to garner some attention this season as they should have a very explosive offense led by quarterback Carson Strong who is going to be a future NFL draft pick and possibly an early one. They also have star wide receiver Romeo Doubs, running back Toa Taua, and a solid defense as well.

The white helmet is an alternate one for the upcoming season and arguably better than the silver despite the helmet design being exactly the same as the silver one.

All what is missing is what tops and bottoms the team will sport when they wear these helmets in the upcoming season.
