Moving up the rankings
It can be officially said now: welcome to March.
It is March, my dudes.

Another week has come and gone, and with that, we are all one step closer to March Madness.
It’s Monday, and that means the newest Associated Press Top 25 rankings, which every college basketball fan longs for, were released. This past week provided much drama across the NCAA spectrum, and for San Diego State it was a huge test of resiliency and grit.
The Aztecs, who jumped back up in the rankings last Monday, moved up again and cracked the top 20, dropping in at 19.
It wasn’t pretty for the Aztecs, but that doesn’t matter. They swept Boise State, who had previously held the top spot in the Mountain West Conference.
The first game was an overtime thriller of a game where the Aztecs crumbled down the stretch before overtime. In the extra period, they were a totally different team and had no issues.
Saturday was Senior Day, and Brian Dutcher relished the opportunity to start five seniors in another Aztecs victory to all but cement them as the top seed heading into the MWC tourney in Las Vegas in a week.
First things first, a make up game against the UNLV Rebels after an early season postponement, and that’s all that stands in the way of them being the top seed and the consensus favorite to win the tournament.

However, UNLV snapped the Aztecs streak of victories last season, and surely they remember that and want to exact revenge on the Rebels.
On another note, BYU is right outside the top 25 and that will help the Aztecs case as they are all but guaranteed a spot in the Big Dance.
No other team in the conference received votes, and Boise State was the only hope, but the two losses to the Aztecs did them in.
As it stands, the Aztecs are ready for their make up game, although they aren’t exactly thrilled about it, and should be the favorite to win the conference title in Las Vegas.
