As consistent as ever.

The Boise State Broncos had to battle through quite a bit in the 2020 football season but, thankfully, some things didn’t change like the overall performance of the next player on our countdown of the Mountain West’s best.

John Ojukwu lined up at left tackle for all seven games last fall as the veteran in a remade offensive line and, though the running game wasn’t quite as explosive without George Holani and the quarterback situation was affected by injuries, helped the Broncos’ sack rate allowed (6.0%) and stuff rate allowed (16.1%) hold steady at roughly their 2019 levels. Add in the degree of difficulty that comes with moving from right tackle to protect the blind side and you start to get a sense of just how much Ojukwu had to handle in 2020.

Things look a lot rosier overall now that last year’s new faces on the line are veterans, but Ojukwu remains the standard who could very well be the latest Bronco lineman to hear his name called in next spring’s NFL Draft. While there’s still plenty of business to attend to between now and then, the sky’s the limit if everything comes together.
