Mutual interest is obvious.
The Boise State coaching search is still going on and it is no shock that former Broncos quarterback Kellen Moore is interested in being the head coach at his alma mater.
Moore is currently the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys and confirmed that he wants to be a head coach.
“Yeah, I want to be a head coach,” Moore said, “I’m really focused on this job right now. We’ll go through this process and we’ll see where it’s at.”
Cowboys OC Kellen Moore said he’s focused on this week’s game against the Giants, but he acknowledged interest in the Boise State job. “I just got to go through this process.”

Cowboys OC Kellen Moore when asked about wanting to be a head coach in the future: “Yeah, I want to be a head coach. … I’m really focused on this job right now. We’ll go through this process and we’ll see where it’s at. … That was really boring, guys, sorry.”

This should come as no shock. Moore has done a solid job running the Cowboys offense when the team is healthy with all of its playmakers.
Moore still has the season finale against the New York Giants and possibly even going to the NFL postseason. If the Cowboys win and Washington loses or tie they are in the playoffs.
Getting into the playoffs could put a damper on the Broncos plan because Moore would not leave his Cowboys job while they are in the playoffs. The good news about this is that Boise State needs an athletic director as well and that hire might come before securing a head coach, so there is time to be patient.
