SDSU has some options, maybe.

UPDATE: San Diego State will play at Colorado this Saturday with a 3 p.m. MT kick and the game will air on the Pac-12 Network.

San Diego State’s anticipated game vs. Fresno State was canceled due to COVID-19 within the Bulldogs program, and ever since then, the Aztecs have been looking for a replacement.

One option was BYU which seems not likely at this point but the options on the table are playing Air Force whose Thanksgiving Day game against Colorado State was canceled, or the bigger fish could be playing a 2-0 Colorado team.

The Buffaloes are currently on track to play USC in Southern California but the Trojans have coronavirus issues of their own.

USC football is being treated as a business so if they suffer a third positive would force them to not play this weekend.

All the Aztecs can do is wait. USC is getting tested on Thursday and Friday and one easy fix could be for Colorado to play at Dignity Health Sports Park which is in the Los Angeles-area and still have the Pac-12 air the game on one of its networks. What also would be weird would be to play it at the Collisuem.

San Diego State has been practicing all week and head coach Brady Hoke has been coy about if the team will play and possibly who. He clearly wants to play a game as does Colorado and Air Force as both have had two games canceled this year. The latest a game might be put on would be Friday afternoon and move the game to Sunday, which is what the Pac-12 did for the last-second change that pitted UCLA vs. Cal in the Rose Bowl.

Stay tuned.
