A very important game.
The San Diego State vs. Hawaii game is huge if either team wants to have a shot at the conference title game with the loser possibly being out of that contest for the loser.
Both teams have a new head coach and Hawaii looks to be back on track as its passing game took a big step forward in its win over New Mexico, but it was the Lobos so take that with a grain of salt.
San Diego State also has a new-ish head coach as Brady Hoke is back as the main guy and he has gotten the running game back up and going compared to last year. The ground game is what it was after that 2019 season that was plagued by injuries. It may not be as good as years with Rashaad Penny or Donnel Pumphrey, both of who were selected in the NFL Draft.
This game very well could be decided by those two position groups. The Warriors pass game is good and the ball gets spread around but going up against the Aztecs defense is difficult. So, breaking through on that end will be more difficult than San Diego State having success against this Warriors rushing defense that is allowing just over five yards per carry.
Hawaii has more work to do to get the win but it is not impossible even thought the line favors the Aztecs by 11.
