Who will come out on top, red or blue?
The biggest sports day of the year in the Silver State is this Saturday, when the UNLV Rebels and Nevada Wolf Pack will face off in the Las Vegas Strip’s new billion-dollar digs.
UNLV will look to put a messy performance against San Diego State behind them as they take the field for the first time at Allegiant Stadium, though plenty of questions remain. After the quarterback trio of Max Gilliam, Kenyon Oblad, and Justin Rogers combined to go just 17-of-29 for 106 yards and a touchdown last Saturday, head coach Marcus Arroyo has already stated that the evaluation process is ongoing.
The defense, which tallied just one sack against the Aztecs, will also have its hands full against a Wolf Pack passing game that won’t hesitate to put the pedal to the metal. Nevada’s sophomore quarterback, Carson Strong, is coming off the strongest single-game performance of his young career and will take aim at his third straight game with at least 400 passing yards.
