Who is the better bettor?
Now that you guys have chosen which bet you’re going to make, let’s take a look at the bets involved in this weeks challenge.
Here’s a reminder of how this is going to work for the rest of the season. The odds post will come out each week and I’ll make what I believe to be the best bets for each game. Four of the bets will be picked and we’ll tweet out a poll for you guys to choose which bet you believe is most likely to win. I’ll pick one of the other bets and each week we’ll recap the head to head as well as how each team did at the sportsbook. In the event of a cancellation of a game that was bet on, the next highest chosen bet will be made in its place.

The poll has ended and the bets have been placed. You guys ended up choosing the Boise State/Utah State over. And I decided to go with Air Force -7 against San Jose State.
Boise State/Utah State over
This pick has dropped 5.5 points since the odds were first released. To those unfamiliar with sports betting, this is indicating that most of the bets being taken were on the under. The fact that the odds on this are -106 also indicate that the bets are still coming in on the under.
I still like this pick. As mentioned before, this matchup has only had a total combined final score below 55 points once in the last seven years. Both offenses should be strong and the question mark for this game will be the defenses.
air force -7
The final spread for this game isn’t different from first release, but they did change throughout the week. At one point the spread dropped to -6.5, and then further down to -6. Most of the bets being taken had San Jose State covering at -7 early on to drop the odds and then the money started coming in on Air Force at -6 to drive it back up.
One could argue that San Jose State has the top receiving corps in the Mountain West. That will keep them in the game, but I don’t believe this is enough to overcome Air Force. The Spartans will get chunk plays and points, but Air Force should be able to cover seven points comfortably.
