They don’t often come much tougher.
Sometimes, a player can be a perfect representation of the college football program for which they play. That’s definitely the case for the next athlete on our countdown of Mountain West football’s top performers in 2020.
Wyoming running back Xazavian Valladay was one of just 15 FBS players to average 20 carries per game (and the only one from the Mountain West) last fall and he thrived in one of the nation’s most run-heavy offenses, racking up a conference-high 1,265 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He was especially instrumental in some of the Cowboys’ biggest games of the fall, averaging 7.9 yards per carry in the win over Missouri, compiling a staggering 37 carries in the close loss to Boise State, and tallying 290 yards from scrimmage in the Arizona Bowl victory against Georgia State.
What could “X” possibly do for an encore? Whatever it is, opposing defenses will know he’s coming and they still might not be able to stop him, which is exactly how the Wyoming faithful like it.
