2020 Mountain West Football Top 50 Players: #16, Colorado State TE Trey McBride
The Rams tight end is the highest-rated player at his position on our countdown of the conference’s best.
A unique offensive weapon.
After a hiatus, our annual countdown of the Mountain West’s top football players is back with a truncated season now right around the corner and Colorado State tight end Trey McBride is the first player to be counted in the restart, checking in at #16.
In one of the conference’s deepest passing attacks, McBride thrived throughout his first full year as a starter, leading all Mountain West tight ends with 45 catches, 560 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. Six of those catches went for 20 or more yards, which was tied for third in the Mountain West at the position, which made him an easy first-team all-conference selection.
He briefly flirted with the idea of leaving Fort Collins through the transfer portal back in August but changed his mind. The Rams offense, under new offensive coordinator Joey Lynch, will be better for his return.
