A-10 vs. MW challenge taking a break
We knew some college basketball games would not happen this year and one event that is going by the wayside for the Mountain West is the first-year challenge against the Atlantic-10.
This is a big loss as these games were to help the Mountain West earn quality wins and possibly even Quadrant One wins. However, this had to be expected for this type of event to not go on as non-conference games are going to get cut.
This series was announced in December of 2018, which was to originally cover the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, with an option to extend the partnership for an additional two years, into the 2023-24 season.
The Mountain West announced that the challenge is being postponed by one year.
The Mountain West and Atlantic 10 Conference have mutually agreed to postpone the leagues’ challenge series, originally scheduled to begin in December of 2020. Matchups are slated to be rescheduled for the 2021-22 season.
