UNLV has their season opener at home against the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons. This will be the start of the of the T.J. Otzelberger era at UNLV the tip of the iceberg (please laugh).
Tonight’s game for the Rebels will be an interesting matchup. The Mastodons have been a consistently good three-point shooting team, ranking in the top ten in makes last season.
Otzelberger brought Amari Hardy off the bench in the Rebels preseason game so it will be interesting to see if he keeps going forward with that in the season opener. Hardy could very well lead the team in scoring tonight off the bench. Another positive note from the preseason game was the teams sharing of the ball tallying up 27 assists.
A UNLV team that is passing the ball around and willing to take more three’s will be fun to watch. UNLV’s new offensive approach should lead to a win in the Thomas and Mack
