2019 Mountain West Football Top 52 Players: #21, Air Force DE Jordan Jackson
Air Force’s star defensive end is the next Falcon on this year’s countdown of Mountain West football’s best.
Jackson will ground you.
It isn’t very often that a sophomore breaks out in a big way at the Air Force Academy, but that’s exactly what defensive end Jordan Jackson was able to do in 2018 for the Falcons and it’s why he checks in at #21 on our list of Mountain West football’s top athletes.
Jackson easily led Air Force with 4.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss, allowing a mere 1.16 yards per play. He also finished fourth on the team with 54 total tackles, an anchor for a unit that allowed just 3.46 yards per carry on the ground last fall, the second-best average in the Mountain West.
Now in his junior year, Jackson will look to help the Falcons take another step forward and return to bowl eligibility. If he’s in the defensive player of the year conversation by season’s end, don’t be shocked.
