2019 Mountain West Football Top 52 Players: #26, Colorado State WR Warren Jackson
Jackson could be the Rams’ next great wide receiver and he’s next on our list of Mountain West football’s best this season.
The bar is high, but Jackson could get there.
It isn’t easy to play your way into the same breath as Michael Gallup and Rashard Higgins, but the Colorado State Rams might already have their next elite wide receiver in Warren Jackson, who lands at #26 on our countdown of the conference’s best.
In his first two seasons with Colorado State, Jackson has caught 47 passes for 670 yards and six touchdowns. Playing behind Preston Williams and Olabisi Johnson last year, he still mustered a healthy 67% catch rate and a 58.8% Success Rate, among all CSU receivers with at least 30 targets in the last four years, is the fourth-best figure.
With Williams and Johnson gone to the NFL now, Jackson is set to take on a much larger role within what might be a pass-heavy offense. Needless to say, there should be plenty of opportunity for him to put up big numbers with Collin Hill at quarterback, which could pose the same old problem for defenses across the Mountain West.
