Can anyone from the MW do it all?

Watch list season continued today with the release of the Paul Hornung Award’s list of players to follow. Given annually to the nation’s most versatile player, there are three athletes from the Mountain West on this year’s iteration.

San Diego State running back and kick returner Juwan Washington makes his second straight appearance on this particular list. Despite missing four games with injury last year, he finished 2018 with 999 rushing yards and ten touchdowns while averaging 20.6 yards on 19 kick returns.

Boise State cornerback Avery Williams also finds his way back onto the Hornung watch list after a 2018 in which he battled through injury to collect nine passes defended, three forced fumbles and two interceptions on defense. He also averaged seven yards per punt return in 18 opportunities,

Fresno State running back Ronnie Rivers saw time in just eleven games last season but comes into 2019 as one of two returning players (Washington being the other) to average 100 all-purpose yards per game. He averaged 9.9 yards per punt return and 11.96 yards on 26 catches while also leading the Bulldogs with 742 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns.

Last year’s Paul Hornung Award winner was Purdue wide receiver and kick returner Rondale Moore.
