One of the best at his position.
Interior linemen on the offensive line don’t often get a lot of glory, but they absolutely make a difference and perhaps no one in the Mountain West was better last year than Boise State left guard John Molchon, who lands our countdown at #30.
Molchon earned an honorable mention as an all-Mountain West performer in his first year as a starter back in 2017, then played his way to first-team honors last fall as part of a unit that helped the offense average 459.5 yards per game and 6.1 yards per play. That made him an obvious pick for various preseason all-conference teams, but he also found his way onto the Outland Trophy watch list, as well.
Now entering his third year as a starter for the Broncos, Molchon is firmly entrenched as one of the best guards in the Mountain West (and probably the Group of 5, too). It may be a little harder to see him work on Saturdays than most, but you should make the effort to pay attention.
