What are preseason reveals without a shock?
Most of our other staff choices for various preseason honors are what you’d expect. Not this one, though: We’ve chosen Boise State’s Bryan Harsin and Hawaii’s Nick Rolovich as our preseason co-coaches of the year.
Harsin continued his strong run on the blue by clinching the Mountain division crown for the fourth time, winning ten games despite coming up just short in the conference title game and having the team’s bowl game canceled by lightning. Already the favorite to run it back and win the Mountain again, expectations are as high as ever for Harsin.
Rolovich, on the other hand, looks to improve his Warriors after a first-half surge propelled Hawaii back to bowl eligibility. The team finished with eight wins for the first time since winning ten in 2010 and could be a dark horse to claim its first West division crown.
