Finals are set.

The semifinals of the Mountain West tournament was a wild day, or night really, as it started with the much-anticipated matchup between San Diego State and Nevada.

The Wolf Pack had its struggles against the Aztecs over the past year-plus and the trend continued with San Diego State getting the win. It did not help that Nevada was without Jordan Caroline whose achilles injury was bothering him.

San Diego State’s fourth win in five tries over Nevada send the Aztecs back to its second-consecutive year and fifth out of six.

The night game saw Utah State come out shooting extremely well and dominate Fresno State by taking a 50-27 lead at the break before winning 85-60. The Aggies were led by Sam Merrill’s 22 points and off the bench, Diogo Brito had his second-best scoring output of the year with 20 points.
