What are the concerns on the Lobos schedule?
New Mexico Lobo Coach Bob Davie will have a very challenging football schedule for 2019. He will likely be out to prove the past two seasons record of being 3-9 were an anomaly.
The Lobos start the season off at Dreamstyle Stadium in Albuquerque against the Sam Houston State Bearkats out of the FCS ranks.
They have an early-season bye week the following week, and it will be needed as they prep for a road game against a playoff team from last year in Notre Dame.
What makes this game interesting is that there will be more than 80,000 hostile fans to greet their former head coach of Notre Dame.
The Fighting Irish will be a tough road test for the Lobos with both a new offensive coordinator in Dailey and a new defensive coordinator in Jordan Peterson so early in the season.
The following week they host their arch rivals from down south the New Mexico State Aggies.
Then the Lobos go on the road against the Liberty Flames in Lynchburg, Virginia. New Mexico does have a possible secret weapon in Dailey who was on the Flames staff last year as its offensive coordinator, so maybe there is a bit of intel passed along to help New Mexico get the victory in 2019.
Nothing will come easy for the Lobos as they battle week to week in Mountain West play. Davie will be laser focussed as he gets his team ready to battle a very demanding schedule this fall.
