¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mountain West play has caused a lot of overreactions with some of the upset wins — looking at you New Mexico — so this week our staff tried to rectify who should be ranked where.

Even course-correcting a few teams it is still tough to figure out what teams are behind Nevada, who is back to being a unanimous selection. What makes the rankings tough is that Boise State and UNLV are 3-0 at this point but they were not great in out of league play and the teams they beat in league play have been nothing special.

That is why Fresno State and Utah State are still at the second and third spot, but there were three people which put the Rebels at the No. 3 and that can easily be argued for.

New Mexico took the biggest fall by going from third to seventh after going 0-2 which followed its huge upset win over Nevada.

One game that could clear some things up, or not, is Boise State and Fresno State on Saturday. UNLV is still looking to make its case as one of the best teams not made Nevada but they take on San Jose State and Air Force so it will be hard for them to move up just on wins alone.

These rankings go through games played from Jan. 6 – Jan. 13
