Final Mountain West Football Power Rankings
The season is over…
Fresno State remains on top after the season.
The final end of season Mountain West football power rankings are here and it is no shock that the top six teams that made bowl games finished in that grouping. The only drama was if San Diego State would move down after being shutout against Ohio in the Frisco Bowl.
There were a few votes that swapped the Cowboys and Aztecs but it was not enough to make a change, meaning San Diego State came in sixth.
At the top, Fresno State solidified its spot as the No. 1 team after following up its win over Boise State in the Mountain West title game by handing a loss to Arizona State in the Las Vegas Bowl.
The Broncos bowl game was canceled but no other performance from the conference was enough to drop Boise State from that second spot. Utah State’s win over North Texas did earn them a few second-place nods over the Broncos but it was not enough.
