Noble Hall was Rocky Long’s guy to clog up the middle. Hall redshirted his freshman year to bulk up and then played the rest of his eligibility on the defensive line. He was recruited to play defensive tackle and in spite of his preference for the end, he played well.
Long positioned Hall as a defensive tackle during his freshman, sophomore, and senior year. During his junior year, Long gave in and played Hall at defensive end where he statistically had his best season at DE with 38 total tackles 2.5 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. Hall could have surpassed his 2017 totals in 2018, but suffered an injury for two games and did not play in the DXL Frisco Bowl.

Strengths
Hall is a big body in the middle. He anchored all the movement and adjustments behind him and was able to rush the line and get to the backfield. He is able to record sacks from the interior, and without a doubt hustles to makes plays. Better in the middle— technique-wise — than at end. Able to be coached up.
Weaknesses
His frame might not translate to success in the NFL at DL, would need to tack on more muscle or transition to defensive end. Boise State’s more physical offensive line bottled him up at the point of attack. Questionable behavior, as he was suspended for San Diego State’s bowl game for violating team rules. Long would not elaborate further than that.
